Pokemons 30th Celebration - Everything You Need to Know
First off, thirty years of Pokemon is WILD. But putting our disbelief aside, we and everyone else are ramping up for one of the most anticipated TCG releases of 2026.
Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration releases worldwide on September 16, 2026. This set is creating buzz for having 30 different Pikachu illustrations, a revival of 30 iconic cards from Pokemon TCG's history, and introduction of a new card rarity type - Futuristic Rare.
There is a wide line up of 30th Celebration products slated for release from September through November, so there's lots to be excited about. Here's everything you need to know:
Why So Much Hype?
Excitement surrounding the 30th Celebration set comes down to a few things:
First, the anniversary matters because the franchise matters. Pokemon is the largest IP in the world. That following speaks to the demand this set is creating.
Second, the Classic Collection is 30 cards of straight nostalgia, and who doesn't love that?
Then, there's Pikachu. This set contains thirty different illustrations of Pokemon's most famous ambassador, effectively creating a mini-collection of Pikachus to chase within the larger set.
The staggered product release schedule adds another layer of interest. Products will be releasing for nearly 2 months, culminating in several premium collector products on November 6.
Finally, a new product rarity is being launched called Futuristic Rare, or FUR. So far we've only seen Mewtwo and Mew with the FUR treatment, but we're digging it.
The Classic Collection
One of the biggest nostalgic elements of 30th Celebration is the Classic Collection, a subset of 30 cards that revisit iconic cards from Pokemon TCG's history, such as PIkachu & Zekrom GX.
The Classic Collection also has a unique connection to the Notably, each 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection will include a dedicated Classic Collection booster pack that contains three Classic Collection cards (in addition to 29 standard 30th Celebration booster packs).
Pikachu + Day & Night
Two themes running through 30th Celebration are Pikachu and Day & Night.
As mentioned before, this set features 30 different Pikachu illustrations, with one appearing in every booster pack. Each booster pack also contains a foil Basic Energy. This makes Pikachu one of the defining features of the anniversary expansion, which seems fitting.
The Day & Night theme carries over into several of the sealed products, most notably the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks and the two Ultra-Premium Collections. The Day UPC features Espeon ex, while the Night version features Umbreon ex. Naturally, Pikachu ex appears in both. With the Tech Sticker Collections, you can channel sunny day vibes with the Alolan Exeggutor, or the nocturnal aura of the Lucario. The Mini Tins also use the Day & Night theme across the 10 different artworks that combine to create two larger Day & Night images when collected together.
When Does the Set Release?

Knock Out Collection
Poster Collection. The poster features images of over 160 cards from the special 30th Celebration expansion. You also get foil promo cards featuring Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and three booster packs
Sylveon ex Box. Foil promo + 4 packs
Greninja ex Box. Foil promo + 4 packs
30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box. Each 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box contains nine booster packs from the expansion, a full-art promo card featuring Nidorina, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, and a plastic coin.
30th Celebration Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box. The Pokemon Center version of the box includes 11 30th Celebration booster packs—two more than usual and two full-art promo cards featuring Nidorina.
October 2, 2026
30th Celebration Binder Collection. 9-pocket binder + five booster packs 
30th Celebration Booster Bundle. 6 booster packs.
30th Celebration Mini Tins. Each Mini Tin comes with two 30th Celebration booster packs, a sticker sheet, and an art card to match the Mini Tin. Collect all ten artworks to create two different images highlighting the brightness of day and the coolness of night.
October 30, 2026
30th Celebration Battle Decks — Espeon ex & Umbreon ex. Each all-foil 60-card deck is led by either Espeon ex or Umbreon ex and includes a deck box, coin, and playmat. You'll also find an illustration rare-style Victini or Zeraora.
November 6, 2026
30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection. Ditto promo + 8 booster packs
30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection — Day
30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection — Night
30th Celebration Figure Collection — Mew & Mewtwo. Contains a foil promo card and an oversize card featuring Mew or Mewtwo, a sculpted figure, and five booster packs
The Ultra-Premium Collections are the flagship product of the release. The Day version centers on Espeon ex, while the Night version features Umbreon ex. Each UPC includes 29 standard 30th Celebration booster packs and one special booster pack that contains three cards from the Classic Collection.
