Pokemon's 30th Anniversary: MSRP Preorders for VIPs

Pokemon's 30th Anniversary set is coming up, and for this release we're changing how we're doing the VIP MSRP preorders. Rest assured - the spirit of the VIP program is the same, even strengthened. Champions still get the best access, followed by Guardians. The biggest change is that Adventurers will actually get a piece of the MSRP-drop pie.

What's Changing

For previous VIP MSRP preorders, all three VIP tiers were "eating" from the same pool of preorder inventory.

Champions received access first, followed by Guardians, then Adventurers. Our intention was to give Champions reliable access to MSRP drops; Guardians would get access but with time pressure; and Adventurers would get access on a first come, first served basis. 

However, our customer base grew more quickly than our allocations, which meant little or no MSRP inventory remained for the Adventurer tier.

We're changing that structure for the 30th Celebration by opening up our second wave of allocation for VIPs.

30th Celebration Preorders

Champions

When? Saturday, August 22 at 12 PM CT

What? Champions may preorder up to:

1 Elite Trainer Box
1 Poster Collection
1 Tech Sticker Collection

Our first wave of allocation will be reserved exclusively for Champions. Champion preorders will be fulfilled when we receive our first wave of product, slated for September 16. Please note that Champion preorders will close on Sunday, August 23, at 12 PM CT (24 hours after the drop). 

Guardians

When? Saturday, August 22 at 12 PM CT

What? Guardians may preorder up to:

1 Elite Trainer Box
1 Poster Collection
1 Tech Sticker Collection

Guardian preorders will be fulfilled from our second wave of allocation (delivery date TBD).

Adventurers

When? Saturday, August 22 at 1 PM CT (1 hour after Champions & Guardians)

What? Adventurers may preorder up to:

1 Elite Trainer Box
1 Poster Collection
1 Tech Sticker Collection

Availability for Adventurers will be on a first come, first served basis.

Like Guardians, Adventurer preorders will be fulfilled with our second wave of allocation (date TBD).

Summing Up

The mechanics of the VIP MSRP preorders are changing, but the spirit of the VIP program is maintained - and hopefully strengthened - by this new structure.
