Ascended Heroes, released in early 2026, marks the return of Mega Evolution to the Pokemon Trading Card Game. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about the set.


Release Date and Rollout

The Mega Evolution — Ascended Heroes expansion officially launched (in English) on January 30, 2026. However, unlike standard Pokemon TCG expansions, Ascended Heroes did not release traditional booster boxes or individual booster packs at general retail. Instead, Pokemon distributed the set through specialty products that released over several months. 

Product Release Dates

- January 30, 2026 – Tech Sticker Collection boxes

- February 20, 2026 – Elite Trainer Boxes, Mini Tins, and Pokemon Center exclusive products

- March 20, 2026 – Premium Poster Collections and First Partners Deluxe Pin Collections

- April 24, 2026 – Booster Bundles and Mega Pokemon ex Boxes

This release cadence is more staggered than in past sets. 


What's in the Set — Card Breakdown

Ascended Heroes is one of the largest expansions ever released in English, with more than 290 cards.

Mid to Late Wave Products (March–April)

- Premium Poster Collection – Featuring Mega Gardevoir and Mega Lucario; includes ten booster packs and large poster artwork. 

First Partners Deluxe Pin Collection – Features foil cards and enamel pins.

- Mega Pokemon ex Tins – Featuring Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y; includes unique promo cards and four packs. 

- Booster Bundles – Six-pack products for expanding collections.

This structure changes how collectors and players approach the set. Without individual packs to purchase, sealed product is the only way to get new cards.
